Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of Rego Notes (the “Service”), operated by Rego Notes. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.

You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that are used in breach of these terms.

3. Rego checks and credits

The Service operates on a credit model. Each vehicle lookup consumes one check from your balance. New accounts receive 5 free checks.

If a lookup returns no vehicle data, the check is automatically refunded to your balance. Checks that return data are consumed and are not refundable.

Purchased checks do not expire. Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and cannot be exchanged for money.

4. Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing a pack of checks, you authorise the charge shown at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card details.

Prices are shown at the point of purchase and may change at any time. Price changes do not affect checks already purchased.

5. Accuracy of vehicle data

Vehicle information is retrieved from third-party data providers and is supplied on an “as is” basis. While we work to return accurate results, we do not warrant that the data is complete, current or error-free.

The Service is an information tool and must not be relied on as the sole basis for a purchase, valuation, safety, roadworthiness, insurance or legal decision. Always verify critical details against official records and physical inspection.

Estimated values are indicative market ranges provided by third parties. They are not valuations, appraisals or offers.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Look up vehicles for the purpose of harassing, stalking, tracing or otherwise harming any person
• Resell, redistribute or republish vehicle data obtained through the Service
• Scrape, automate or bulk-query the Service outside of the interfaces we provide, or attempt to circumvent the credit system
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

We may suspend or terminate access immediately for breach of this section.

7. Your content

Notes and issue records you create remain yours. You grant us the limited right to store and process that content solely to operate the Service for you. You are responsible for ensuring your notes do not contain unlawful content or personal information you are not entitled to record.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service depends on third-party providers, and outages or changes to those providers may affect availability or the data returned.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rego Notes is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or business, arising from your use of the Service.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the Settings page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms. Unused checks are not refunded on termination for breach.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
